BLACKPINK member Rosé has shared the first video teaser from her upcoming solo single, ‘On The Ground’, out this Friday (March 12).
On Monday (March 8), Rosé released a 15-second preview that features the K-pop star sitting in a car while soft guitar plays. It is the first teaser that gives fans a taste of what to expect from her forthcoming single. Check it out here:
The video is the latest in a slew of teasers Rosé has shared since announcing her debut solo album on March 2. At the end of last week, she unveiled new teaser images, as well as the title of the lead single from her album ‘R’. “My very first single, ‘On The Ground’ is finally coming out on March 12th!!!,” Rosé wrote on Instagram.

In a press statement, BLACKPINK’s label YG Entertainment said that the album title “symbolizes not only the first letter of Rosé’s name, but also a new beginning for her as a solo artist”, per JoongAng Daily.
“The filming of the music video for Rosé’s lead track has been completed and since its production cost was one of the highest, we are doing our best in post-production to perfect it,” the company added.
Rosé is set to drop ‘R’ this Friday (March 12). The official tracklist for the forthcoming release has yet to be revealed, though it is expected to feature the song ‘Gone’ which the singer previewed in January during BLACKPINK’s first virtual concert, The Show.
In a four-star review of the concert, NME‘s Rhian Daly said that Rosé’s live performance of the B-side track was a “simple but addictive piece of guitar pop, and one that showcases Rosé’s direct, raw vocals”. See a snippet of ‘Gone’ below:
Rosé is the second BLACKPINK member to embark on a solo career after Jennie, who released her chart-smashing hit ‘Solo’ in 2018. In January, the latter became the first K-pop female artist to earn 600million views on YouTube.
In other milestone news, BLACKPINK’s video for ‘Ddu-du Ddu-du’ crossed 1.5billion views at the end of February. The group were also recently named as advocates for UN climate change conference.
