In partnership with Warner Bros. UK
NME Screens will show Challengers, the latest film from visionary director Luca Guadagnino, at a special preview event in London later this month. Find out how to get free tickets below.
Creating exclusive film and TV experiences for NME‘s millions of readers in print, online and social media – NME Screens was launched in March 2023, and has since hosted sold-out screenings of Amy Winehouse biopic Back To Black, Wes Anderson’s offbeat sci-fi comedy Asteroid City, acclaimed social satire Saltburn, noughties New York indie doc Meet Me In The Bathroom, fantasy blockbuster Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves and more.
Next up is Challengers, a sexy, stylish drama set in the competitive world of professional tennis. It stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a promising young player whose career is ended early by injury. Instead of retreating from the sport altogether, she agrees to coach her old friend Art Donaldson (Mike Faist) – a competent pro who needs a bit of a boost to reach the next level. Along their journey to Grand Slam success, they get together and start a family. But when Art hits a tough spot with his game, the reappearance of Tashi’s ex-boyfriend (and Art’s former best mate) Patrick Zweig, played by Josh O’Connor, reshapes the couple’s outwardly solid partnership into an intense love triangle.
Taking place at Borough Yards Everyman in London on Wednesday April 24, the screening comes ahead of Challengers‘ release in cinemas on April 26. Exclusive NME merch will be on offer and tickets are free, available now via Fixr.
