Amyl & The Sniffers’ Amy Taylor tells London crowd: “Donald Trump can eat my arse!”

Amyl & The Sniffers’ Amy Taylor has launched a tirade against Donald Trump on stage in London, saying the president-elect can “eat my arse”.

The outpouring came at the Australian band’s final show of their UK tour at the Roundhouse in London on Friday (November 15). As the frontwoman introduced ‘Tiny Bikini’ from the band’s recently-released third album ‘Cartoon Darkness’, she took a moment to share her thoughts on recent news events.

“I just wanna take a second at the start of the set to talk about politics,” she said. “I think Donald Trump can eat my arse!”

“But not in a cute way, in the way where he should stop being a fuckwit and let me get an abortion, let trans people go and be trans if they wanna be, and all that other fucked up shit.”

See fan-captured footage of Taylor’s comments, followed by the band’s performance of ‘Tiny Bikini’, here:

Taylor continued: “The problem with that is, those motherfuckers over in America, Australians are always sucking them off, so it’s gonna hit us up too, which is bullshit, and yous are probably doing the same.”

Trump defeated his Democrat rival Kamala Harris in the November 5 presidential election and is set to be sworn into office for the second time at his inauguration on January 20.

Amyl & The Sniffers now head around Europe for 10 final dates for 2024, starting in Brussels on Sunday (November 17), before eventually wrapping in Athens on November 29.

In other Amyl news, the band recently appeared on the Channel 4 comedy show The Last Leg, where they played their recent single ‘Jerkin’. Given the song’s expletive-filled lyrics, it fell on host Adam Hills to try to bleep out the bad words, which he did with varying levels of success.

During a recent interview with NME, Amyl & The Sniffers spoke about recording the follow-up to 2021’s ‘Comfort To Me’ at Foo Fighters‘ Studio 606 in Los Angeles, California. They used the soundboard that spawned both Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ and Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours’.

“It was cheap and open,” laughed bassist Gus Romer. “I don’t think any of us ever really gave a fuck about the fact that it was the Foo Fighters studio. “I think people who respect that sort of stuff don’t make the best artwork.”

The band have announced a North American tour for March, April and May next year, a 23-date jaunt that will see them supported by Sheer Mag. See the full list of shows here and tickets can be found here.

Amyl & The Sniffers are also set to play their biggest headline show to date at Alexandra Palace in London next November, while in July 2025, the band will open for Fontaines D.C. at their huge outdoor gig in London’s Finsbury Park.
