Primal Scream have announced details of a new remix album of their latest LP ‘Come Ahead’. Check out the details below.

Titled ‘Come Ahead: The Remixes Vol 1 (Vocals)’, the new album is set for release on March 28 via BMG. It sees the band share 11 remixes of the music that featured in their critically acclaimed album.

With new spins on tracks like ‘Love Insurrection’ and ‘Ready To Go Home’, the new version of Primal Scream’s 12th LP features remixes from numerous artists. This includes the recently shared version of ‘Innocent Money’ from Pet Shop Boys.

Announced last week, the PSB variant sees Neil Tennant provide his signature vocals over the song and introduce hints of acid-house elements.

Other variants include the Tim Goldsworthy remix of both ‘Ready To Go Home’ and ‘Love Ain’t Enough’, the Black Science Orchestra spin on ‘Love Insurrection’, and Terry Farley and Wade Teo’s white label remix of ‘Ready To Go Home‘.

“We have been truly blessed that so many wonderful, talented and creative people have taken up the offer to remix songs from our ‘Come Ahead’ album with such inventiveness and enthusiasm,” frontman Bobby Gillespie said in a new statement. “We are very proud of these remixes and at some point would like to release them on 12” vinyl and include the beautiful dub mixes to accompany them.”

He continued: “Andrew Weatherall set a very high bar with his remix work on ‘Screamadelica’ and I believe that everyone who worked on this latest project had that in mind as they entered the studio to do their stuff. You can hear the results for yourself. Enjoy!”

As well as announcing the new album, Primal Scream have also shared the new music video for ‘Innocent Money’. It is directed by ex-The Jesus and Mary Chain member and renowned filmmaker Douglas Hart, who has been working with Primal Scream since 1991. Check it out below.

‘Come Ahead’ arrived in November and was given a four-star review from NME.

“The point’s laid on a little too thick at times, and we could do with some punchier peaks to get our rocks off – ‘Heal Yourself’, for instance, plods a little and ‘Melancholy Man’ stumbles as something of an aimless dirge,” it read. “Ultimately, though, ‘Come Ahead’ may have a whole lot of funk on its surface but still packs oodles of punk and grenades of protest in its trunk.”

Later this month, Gillespie and co. are set to embark on a UK and Ireland tour to celebrate the album, with the dates kicking off in Bristol. From there, more shows will take place in April and include stops in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and more. Visit here for remaining tickets.
